DAR Pangasinan - DAR Pangasinan's first 2 months - February 23, 2024

January and February 2024 are months of milestones in DAR Pangasinan. With a continuous pursuit of service excellence, the Provincial Office had a strong kickoff to the year, and CARP beneficiaries have more to anticipate. Here are some of the highlights:

PARPO II Lasmarias assumes leadership in DAR Pangasinan

The New Year came with new leadership in the Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office (DARPO) Pangasinan. PARPO II Charlotte F. Lasmarias, who took oath last October 2023, assumed the helm in the Provincial Office in the first month of 2024.

“Rest assured, I will continue the exceptional work begun by DARPO Pangasinan. With the support of Team DARPO Pangasinan, I pledge to further elevate the quality of public service and empower our agrarian reform beneficiaries,” PARPO II Lasmarias vowed.

PARPO II Lasmarias also maintained her concurrent assignment of Special Assistant to the Office of the Secretary.

The former PARPO I has been with the Provincial Office since 2022.

  • Sec. Estrella chairs first RFT1-ELCAC meeting

Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III convened with the Regional Task Force 1 to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF1-ELCAC) in his capacity as Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security of the Ilocos Region. In the first joint task force meeting, the Department of Interior and Local Government and Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace, Reconciliation and Unity reported the status of the RTF1-ELCAC programs.

Sec. Estrella committed to maintaining the Region’s insurgency-free status and extending this success to other regions.

“Let’s make Region 1 the championship team of the Philippines,” he declared.

  • DAR Pangasinan awarded with ISO 9001:2015 recognition

The DAR Central Office recognized the Provincial Office’s commitment to public service, continual improvement, and efficiency in a national ISO 9001:2015 recognition ceremony. DAR Pangasinan was one of the 41 provincial offices conferred with the award.

“This award is presented to DARPO Pangasinan for the exceptional achievement of ISO 9001:2015 certification without a cycle gap, as recognized by a rigorous assessment process of Certifying Bodies,” the recognition read. “By successfully implementing and sustaining the ISO 9001:2015 standards, your office has demonstrated excellence in leadership, organizational efficiency, and a steadfast commitment to delivering quality services.”

DAR Pangasinan was the first Provincial Office to be ISO 9001:2015-certified in the Ilocos Region.

  • Stronger land tenure improvement and agrarian justice delivery services

The dedicated personnel of the Land Tenure Improvement, the Legal Division, and the DAR Adjudication Board work the extra mile to provide frontline services to a growing number of walk-in clients. In addition to the existing Condonation Response Desks in the Provincial Office, officers and employees from the three divisions also conduct fieldwork to provide services in far-flung areas.

Upcoming frontline projects include the Kumustaka, which will be piloted in Pangasinan this year.

  • Support Services abound

Within the first two months of 2024, the hardworking personnel of the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development and Sustainability Program conducted barangay workshop consultations in priority agrarian reform clusters, a graduation ceremony for more than 100 finishers of the Farm Business School program, and meetings with partner agencies for upcoming projects.

  • Records Management Audit

In February, the Provincial Office underwent a rigorous Records Management Audit as part of the Department’s nationwide thrust to maintain a streamlined records management system.

The Audit concluded on Valentine’s Day, where PARPO II Lasmarias encouraged everyone to take every challenge as an opportunity to further improve the Office’s public service.

“Dahil sa inyo, lalo pa po kaming mag-iimprove. Lahat ng reviews tine-take namin as challenge para mas maganda ang magiging serbisyo namin. Maraming maraming salamat po,” the DAR Pangasinan leader said. (za)
