As part of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Capiz’s commitment to boost and sustain agricultural productivity as well as the farmers’ livelihood activities, four Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) from Capiz received P2.395 million worth of farm machineries and equipment from DAR, March 14, 2024.

“This is actually part of the support services component of the Department of Agrarian Reform under the Bagong Pilipinas naton nga program by no less than sang aton nga President, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., nga ang pinaka-mandate is to intensify the provision of support services to our assisted organizations as well as to our ARBs para nga ma-improve ang productivity sang awarded lands naton at the same time, to complement sang food sufficiency and food security program sang aton government,” OIC-Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II Anthony P. Arostique emphasized.

Among the recipients of the support services, which include the Jumbo Hand Tractor Riding type, were members of Malapad Cogon Agrarian Reform Cooperative of Sigma, Pangabuan Agrarian Reform Cooperative of Jamindan, and Candelaria Agrarian Reform Cooperative of Tapaz, while members of the Progressive Women Agrarian Reform Cooperative of Dumarao received a Hand Tractor with Trailer, a Floating Tiller with Engine, Rice Thresher with Engine, and 35hp 4WD Tractor.

The Farm Machineries and Equipment (FME) is one of the components in the implementation of the major-crop based block farm productivity enhancement and Sustainable Livelihood Projects under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support (CRFPS) of the DAR.

“Ang hiling ko lang sa partners namin, as we continue working with our leaders ma realize ang mga mandates namin, is for ARBs to really be serious with our partnership. Your failure, the failure of our ARBs is also the failure of DAR,” Special Assistant to the Regional Director Claudio A. Ybanez said.

The ARBOs shared their gratitude and commitment to the DAR to properly use and manage the facilities given to them.

“Since nga for the first time nga ang Candelaria nakatukod sang cooperative because of the DAR nga sila guid nag-patigayon kag nag patikasod sa pag-organize sini nga cooperative. Kag ini nga cooperative madamo naman ang amon mga miyembro kay as of now, guina convince ko gid sila sa pag join. Ang benepisyo sang gobyerno, indi maka direkta sa isa ka pumuloyo kundi ara gid sa cooperative. Sa sini nga tinion, naga pasalamat guid kami. We are all thankful for these machineries especially sa livelihood nga guin hatag sa amon ang banana kag ang sweet potatoes,” Gerry Gabrillo, Chairperson of Candelaria ARC expressed in his message of commitment and thanksgiving.

The Farm Machineries and Equipment Turn-Over and Acceptance Ceremony was spearheaded by the Program Beneficiaries Development (PBD) Division, DARPO Capiz.
