The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has provided training on corn production, pest management, and marketing skills, and turned over a farm tractor worth P1.85 million to members of the Burabod Farmers Agrarian Reform Organization (BFARO) in barangay Burabod, Calabanga, Camarines Sur to improve their income and productivity.

DAR Regional Director Reuben Theodore Sindac said the provision of various training and a tractor to members of the agrarian cooperative is aimed at enhancing crop productivity and reducing production costs of agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the area.

“We encouraged the farmers to establish effective operations of the farm tractor to help increase the income of their members and their association,” Sindac said.

“We also provided them with farm and market-related training to teach them the basics of establishing an agri-trading business,” Sindac added.

Cynthia Malanyaon, Vice President of BFARO said the provision from DAR is an answered prayer.

“We are so grateful for all the training and for this farm tractor. As beneficiaries, we will do our part to boost farm production and income not just for our members but for our community, as well,” Malanyaon said.

The farm tractor was provided under the DAR’s Major Crop-Based Block Farm Productivity Enhancement (MCBFPE) project.

DAR Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Renato Bequillo said the tractor would help ease the farmers’ farming method and increase their farm yields.

“Higher farm yields would help increase the cooperative’s income, which would eventually contribute to ensuring enough food supply in the province,” Bequillo said.

Bequillo said the activity was made possible through the strong leadership of Secretary Conrado Estrella III, Undersecretary for Support Services Rowena Niña Taduran, and the officials of DAR Regional and Provincial Offices.

After the turnover, training sessions on how to use and maintain the farm tractor were conducted for the farmer-members of BFARO.

Nagkaloob ng pagsasanay ang Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) sa corn production, pest management, at marketing skills, at namahagi ng isang traktora na nagkakahalaga ng P1.85 milyon sa mga miyembro ng Burabod Farmers Agrarian Reform Organization (BFARO) sa barangay Burabod, Calabanga, Camarines Sur upang mapabuti ang kanilang kita at produktibidad.

Sinabi ni DAR Regional Director Reuben Theodore Sindac na ang pagbibigay ng ang pagbibigay ng iba’t ibang pagsasanay at traktor sa mga agraryong kooperatiba ay naglalayong mapahusay ang produktibidad ng pananim at mabawasan ang mga gastos sa produksyon ng mga agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) sa lugar.

“Hinihikayat namin ang mga magsasaka na magtatag ng epektibong operasyon ng traktora, dahil ang naturang traktor ay ibinigay upang makatulong sa pagtaas ng kita ng kanilang mga miyembro at kanilang asosasyon,” ani Sindac.

“Pinagkalooban din namin sila ng pagsasanay na may kinalama sa sakahan at pamilihan upang ituro sa kanila ang mga pangunahing kaalaman sa pagtatatag ng negosyong pang-agrikultura,” dagdag ni Sindac.

Sinabi ni Cynthia Malanyaon, Bise Presidente ng BFARO na ang probisyon mula sa DAR ay isang sagot na panalangin.

“Kami ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng mga pagsasanay at para sa traktorang ito. Bilang mga benepisyaryo, gagawin namin ang aming bahagi upang mapalakas ang produksyon at kita ng sakahan hindi lamang para sa aming mga miyembro kundi para rin sa aming komunidad,"ani Malanyaon.

Ang traktora ay ipinagkaloob sa ilalim ng proyekto ng Major Crop-Based Block Farm Productivity Enhancement (MCBFPE) ng DAR.

Sinabi ni DAR Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Renato Bequillo na ang traktora ay makatutulong sa pagpapagaan ng paraan ng pagsasaka ng mga magsasaka at para mapataas ang kanilang mga ani.

"Ang mas mataas na ani ng sakahan ay makatutulong sa pagtaas ng kita ng kooperatiba, na sa kalaunan ay mag-aambag sa pagtiyak ng sapat na suplay ng pagkain sa lalawigan," ani Bequillo.

Ayon kay Bequillo, naging posible ang aktibidad sa pamamagitan ng matibay na pamumuno nina Secretary Conrado Estrella III, Undersecretary for Support Service Rowena Niña Taduran, at mga opisyal ng DAR Regional at Provincial Offices.

Matapos ang turnover ng traktora, isinagawa ang mga sesyon ng pagsasanay sa tamang paraan ng paggamit at pagpapanatili ng traktora para sa mga magsasakang miyembro ng BFARO.
