Farmers from the Cagayan Valley region received land titles and various support services with Vice President Sara Duterte leading the distribution and turnover of infrastructure facilities and farm machineries and equipment on Wednesday, April 17, at F.L. Dy Coliseum, San Fermin, Cauayan City, Isabela.

A total of 1,117 land titles were awarded to 901 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) from Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, Isabela, and Quirino.

Willy Fableo, one of the ARB recipients from Jones, Isabela, said that it is very fulfilling to finally own the land he was tilling for 15 years.

“I am delighted that the land is now titled under my name. The farm machineries provided to us by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) will also be a big help in making our farms more productive,” he said.

DAR Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III also relayed that the President made sure the support does not end at awarding ARBs with land titles.

“At hindi lang ho ‘yon. Dagdag pa ng ating mahal na Pangulo, siguraduhin mo na mayroon tayong support services. Farm-to-market roads at farm machineries and equipment,” Estrella said.

Senator Imee Marcos also underscored the farmers united effort in achieving agricultural prosperity, stating that “Ako ay naniniwala, nagtutulungan kayo para magkaroon hindi lamang ng titulo kung ‘di tunay na kaunlaran sa kabukiran ng Isabela at nang buong Pilipinas.”

Aside from the land titles, P263,800,000 worth of infrastructure and facilities, including seventeen (17) farm-to-market roads, a bridge in Isabela, and a road project in Cagayan were also turned over to ARBs.

On April 12, two (2) rainwater collectors were turned over by the DAR Regional Office, in partnership with the National Irrigation Administration, to the Municipal Government of Sabtang in Batanes.

Twenty-three (23) agrarian reform beneficiary organizations also received 80 farm machineries and equipment, benefiting 3,105 farmer-beneficiaries in the region.

Vice President Sara Duterte extended the President’s gratitude for working together toward his dream of aprosperous nation.

“Mula kay Pangulong Bongbong Marcos, nagpapasalamat siya sa suporta ninyo sa kanyang pangarap at adhikain na Bagong Pilipinas para sa ating bansa.”
