DAR, DPWH collaborate to build farm-to-market road in Umingan, Pangasinan

Farmers in Brgy. Carosalesan, Umingan, Pangasinan          can expect easier transport of their produce as the          Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Pangasinan            and the Department of Public Works and Highways          (DPWH) join forces to build a new farm-to-market            road (FMR).

This project aligns with one of the key priorities of            DAR Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III's 9-point                  agenda: improving access to markets for                          agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) through farm-          to-market roads.

On April 8, 2024, the DAR Pangasinan, led by PARPO II Charlotte Lasmarias, met with District Engr. De Maria Venus S. Torio at the Pangasinan 3rd District Engineering Office. The meeting focused on finalizing the Php 9,808,147.99 project that will construct a 1,004-meter FMR in Brgy. Carosalesan. Construction is slated to begin this April and is expected to be completed by July 2024.

DAR prioritizes farm-to-market roads as they connect farmers to markets, boosting the rural economy and supporting agrarian reform beneficiaries. (MD)
