AYUNGON, Negros Oriental — Farmers and residents in this town will soon enjoy a concrete road following the groundbreaking activities of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Barangay Gomentoc.

The DAR has partnered with the local government unit (LGU) of Ayungon to start concreting the 1.090-kilometer Barangay Gomentoc to Sitio Basak, Ayungon farm-to-market road project funded under the Agrarian Reform Fund.

DAR Central Visayas Assistant Regional Director Arthur D. Dulcero said at least 200 agrarian reform beneficiaries and residents in Barangay Gomentoc and Sitio Basak will soon have easier access to the market when bringing their farm produce.

“This road which will be finished in 120 days, will help boost the production of rice, sugarcane, pineapples and bananas, the major crops of agrarian reform beneficiaries here,” said Dulcero.

Dulcero added that the road project worth P20 million symbolizes the continued partnership between the DAR and LGUs, which showcases government efforts to develop the countryside by providing much-needed infrastructure.

“The road project is important in uplifting the livelihoods of farmers. This initiative will not only improve their access to markets but also contribute to the area’s economic growth," Dulcero said.

The road project is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to extend the necessary support services to farmers to revitalize the country’s agriculture sector by improving the flow of food supply.

AYUNGON, Negros Oriental — Malapit nang matamasa ng mga magsasaka at residente sa bayang ito ang konkretong kalsada kasunod ng groundbreaking activities ng Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) sa Barangay Gomentoc.

Nakipagtulungan ang DAR sa local government unit (LGU) ng Ayungon para simulan ang pagkonkreto ng 1,090 kilometrong farm-to-market road project na pinondohan sa ilalim ng Agrarian Reform Fund.

Sinabi ni DAR Central Visayas Assistant Regional Director Arthur D. Dulcero na hindi bababa sa 200 agrarian reform beneficiaries at ang mga residente sa Barangay Gomentoc at Sitio Basak ang maseserbisyuhan ng kalsada upang madali silang makarating at madala ang kanilang mga produkto sa mga pamilihan.

“Ang kalsadang ito na matatapos sa loob ng 120 araw, ay makatutulong sa pagpapalakas ng produksyon ng palay, tubo, pinya at saging, ang mga pangunahing pananim ng mga agrarian reform bebeficiaries dito,” ani Dulcero.

Idinagdag ni Dulcero na ang proyektong kalsada na nagkakahalaga ng P20 milyon ay sumisimbolo sa patuloy na pakikipagtulungan sa pagitan ng DAR at LGU, na nagpapakita ng pagsisikap ng pamahalaan na paunlarin ang kanayunan sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng mga kinakailangang imprastraktura.

“Mahalaga ang road project na ito sa pag-angat ng kabuhayan ng mga magsasaka. Ang inisyatibang ito ay hindi lamang mapabubuti ang kanilang pag-access sa mga merkado ngunit makatutulong din sa paglago ng ekonomiya ng lugar," ani Dulcero.

Ang proyektong kalsada ay naaayon sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na palawigin ang kinakailangang suportang serbisyo sa mga magsasaka upang muling buhayin ang sektor ng agrikultura sa bansa sa pamamagitan ng pagpapabuti ng daloy ng suplay ng pagkain.
