ROTARY COMMUNITY CORPS OF CAUAYAN CITY MULTI-PURPOSE COOPERATIVE: GROWING BETTER AND BIGGER

Community Corps Association based in San Francisco, Cauayan City, Isabela, is one of the well-known cooperatives in the City of Cauayan. It has a total share capital of Php 2,493,965.00 through its economic activities, which include water refilling stations, consumer stores, catering services, palay and vegetable selling, rice and maize drying, post harvest facilities and farm machineries rental, credit & savings, and agricultural commodities since 2002. Its success can be attributed to its General Manager, Remedios Quilang.

Their very first business endeavor was funded by its affiliate, the Rotary Club International. The organization had 31 individual farmers as members at the time of its establishment and was finally registered with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) in 2014.

The organization has received various interventions such as 4 wheel drive tractor, mushroom production facility thru Convergence on Livelihood Assistance for ARBs Project (CLAAP), Farm Business School (FBS), Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) and many more from the DAR as an ARBO.

They were also a recipient of a financial loan assistance from the Provincial Government of Isabela thru the Bojie Rodito Opportunities (BRO) Livelihood Assistance Program with a total amount of Php 700,000.00  that has now been fully paid by the organization.

The Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) also provided financial loan assistance in the amount of Php 1,414,284.00, which has already been fully paid,  their credible track record, the LBP has approved a 9.8 million credit line for it.

It has been a great opportunity for the ARBO to become a lending conduit of the Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC). They have availed a financial loan assistance with a total amount of Php 13,000,000.00 that has created the ARBO’s income generating activities such as palay trading, construction of a two-storey office building, procurement of a 1 unit hauling truck and a 1,000 square meter residential lot.

 

The cooperative owns 2 water refilling stations, one in barangay San Francisco, Cauayan City and one in barangay Maligaya to cater the consumers in Cauayan Forest Region. Their own farm tractors, combine harvesters, mechanical grain dryer, and other farm machinery and equipment increased the sustainability of their cooperative's income.

The RCCCCMPC will also receive a new mini hauling truck from DAR thru the EPAHP project to deliver farm produce of its farmer members to its partners, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) -Cauayan City and the National Nutrition Council (NNC) in the City of Cauayan.

These achievements have generated the cooperative a total asset of Php 26,707,071.00. As they all believed in the spirit of cooperativism and through the assistance of the different agencies, organizations and members of the Rotary Community Corps of Cauayan City Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
