Capiz farmers receive Php1.3-M farm machinery and agri inputs from DAR
Farmer members from the three (3) agrarian reform beneficiary organizations (ARBOs) in Capiz were provided with P1.3-million worth of farm machinery and agricultural inputs by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to elevate and improve the quality of their lives.
Anthony P. Arostique, DAR Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II led the turnover of the common service facilities (CSFs) and farm inputs to Matagnop Royale Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Traciano Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, and Lonoy Agrarian Reform Cooperative held in Roxas, Capiz.
Arostique said the awarded CSFs will help boost the economic productivity of the cooperatives, improve their agricultural operations and enhance their market stability.
“We are here to assist the organizations in terms of maintaining their books of accounts, accomplishing their target compliments to food and farm production and the productivity of their awarded farm inputs,” Arostique said.
Arostique noted that the project is implemented under the Climate-Resilient Farm Productivity Support (CRFPS) project of the DAR.
The Matagnop Royale Multi-Purpose Cooperative received a total project cost of Php287,750.00, the Traciano Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative with Php372,000.00, and the Lonoy Agrarian Reform Cooperative with Php668,749.00 total project cost.
All in all, the 3 ARBOs received a total of 51 farm equipment, which include: one (1) unit incubator machine, one (1) unit generator machine, one (1) unit pelletizing machine, one (1) unit corn grinder machine, two (2) units cauldrons, 15 pcs plastic drums, one (1) unit cultivator machine, two (2) units re-chargeable knapsack sprayers, one (1) unit wheelbarrow, two (2) units hand carts, ten (10) pcs fabricated copra removers, ten (10) pcs karets, two (2) units hand tractors with trailer, one (1) unit brush/grass Cutter, and one (1) unit de-husking machine.
Alona D. Albances, Capiz PARPO I emphasized the importance of maintaining the farm facilities efficiently and economically to ensure the productivity and profitability of the equipment.
Aside from the farm inputs, machinery, and equipment, the ARBOs also received technology training and starter kits to guarantee the success and sustainability of their chosen livelihood activities.
ARBO leaders pledged their commitment and expressed their gratitude to the DAR for being chosen as recipients of the CSFs and farm inputs.
