DAR-Benguet Turnover Vegetable Greenhouse to Benguet ARBs

 

July 18, 2023: The Department of Agrarian Reform Benguet turned over two units Twin Butterfly Type Vegetable Greenhouse with Solar-Powered Drip Irrigation and Fertigation System to Bokod Sulfur Spring and Multipurpose Cooperative (BSSMC). The Greenhouse is worth 1.5 million constructed within a 400 square meter lot and under Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project-Sustainable and Resilient Agrarian Reform Communities (CRFPSP-SuRe ARCs) funded under the Agrarian Reform Fund.


BSSMC is the second cooperative to receive two units of Twin Butterfly-type greenhouses with a solar-powered drip irrigation and fertigation system, which includes Solar Panel, Battery, water pump, tanks, drip hose, solar-powered streetlights, seedling trays, assorted organic farm inputs and seedlings. A training fund of Php 70, 000 with training kits and assorted farm input supports worth Php 125,000 were also given.


This project will be a great help to increase the vegetable production of farmer-beneficiaries and marketing of assorted organic highland vegetables.


The inauguration and turnover ceremony was supposedly conducted last June however due to inclement weather, it was moved several times.


The ribbon cutting turnover ceremony was graced by PARPO II Lailani A. Cortez, PARAD Atty. Estrellita B. Briones, Regional Director Atty. Franco G. Bawang, Mayor Representative Atty. Jevan Mesa, Vice Mayor Eric Donn Ignacio with the Sangguniang Bayan Members, ATI-CAR Representative Ms, Jaila Sagpa-ey, and the BSSMC Officers and Members.
