Reaping Rewards: P950k Multipurpose Hauler Powers Success for ARBOs in Nueva Vizcaya

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) – Nueva Vizcaya joined the Barangay Paitan Farmers Association, a leading progressive Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization (ARBO) in the province, showcased their impressive new P950,000 multipurpose hauler on January 30, 2024 at Paitan, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

The valuable machinery, as a testament to the program's potential, was purchased using an income generated from farm machinery equipment (FME) previously awarded to the association by the DAR.

The DAR's unwavering commitment to Barangay Paitan's success is evident in its consistent support over the years. In 2020, the association has received a P1.3 million 4-wheel drive tractor under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support (CRFPS) project, followed by a 40 HP four-wheel drive tractor in 2021 and a P1.975 million combine harvester in 2023 under the Sustainable and Resilient Agrarian Reform Communities (SuRe ARCs) Project.

Anacleto Gonzales, Jr., President of the Association affirmed that these support services directly assist the majority of Brgy. Paitan Farmers Association members, who are also rice growers that cultivate large areas of rice in Bayombong.

Beyond individual success, Barangay Paitan Farmers Association exemplifies the power of collaborative efforts between government agencies and ARBOs, demonstrating how such partnerships elevate the lives of ARBs.

The DAR's unwavering support, and the contributions from other departments, empower ARBs to thrive and contribute substantially to the agricultural sector. -CAF
