United we stand, DAR Caraga joins Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair

 

The Department of Agrarian Reform Caraga once again joined the initiative of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos’ efforts of bringing the government closer to the people through the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) at the Main Campus of Caraga State University on March 22-23, 2024.

For the ceremonial turnover of FMEs, which occurred on the first day, it involved the following Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations’ (ARBOs) of Agusan del Norte: Jaguimitan Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Nasipit), Kahugpungan sa Katawhan sa Subait Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Las Nieves), Marcos Calo Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Las Nieves), Sangay-Curvada Irrigators Association, Inc. (Kitcharao), and Tagabaca Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Butuan City).

Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Hon. Martin G. Romualdez, served as the guest of honor of the BPSF. Such FMEs House Speaker Romualdez ceremonially turned over are four (4) units of floating tillers, fifteen (15) units of grass cutters, ten (10) units of knapsack sprayers, and six (6) units of power sprayers. In total, the estimated cost for the FMEs provided are worth P 687-K which shall benefit some 945 ARB and non-ARB farmers.

According to the official Facebook page of the BPSF, it serves as a venue for all the participating national government agencies to display and showcase their multiple services that will benefit some 80-K residents in the region, especially in Butuan City and Agusan del Norte.

Furthermore, this is the 14th leg of the BPSF with 52 other participating agencies and 293 programs, services and turnovers to be conducted in the 2-day event.

As such, the nine (9) services offered and turnover by DAR XIII are the following: 

  • Ceremonial Turnover of Farm Machineries and Equipments (FMEs) to various ARBOs of Agusan del Norte;
  • AGRARYO Trade Fair: Showcase of ARBO’s Products;
  • New Agrarian Emancipation Act (RA 11953) Condonation Response Desk Consultation;
  • AGRARYO Abogado Todo Serbisyo sa Benepisyaryo: Provision of Legal Advice on Agrarian Legal Matters and Related Laws;
  • Free Consultation for the Execution of Leasehold Contracts, Land Tenure Improvement Program;
  • Free Consultation on DAR Clearance Requirements;
  • Free Legal Assistance for Tenants involved in Criminal and Civil Cases;
  • Free Legal Assistance for CARP Beneficiaries involved in Agrarian Law Implementation Cases; &
  • Free Legal Assistance in Execution of Deed of Conveyance, Affidavit, and other matters.

Regional Director Atty. Merlita S. Capinpuyan shared her excitement for the fruition of this activity as she said, “this initiative of the Pres. Marcos, along with the launching of the Bagong Pilipinas movement, will truly benefit the Caraganons by pooling all in one place the various agencies, effectively making government transactions all the more accessible and easier.”

 She further expressed that, “our agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) are our utmost priority for our services, along with our new prospective clients who are curious and are looking into what DAR is all about. And not only that, we have also grabbed this opportunity to make a wider reach for the various commodities and products by our assisted ARBOs. This in turn will be an additional source of income for them.”

Ms. Charito S. Riso, a resident of Brgy. Ampayon is an active member of her community. And being a proactive member of society, she grabbed the chance offered by the BPSF and turned to the DAR booth to inquire about the status of her request pertaining certifications. Being satisfied with her overall experience, she shared, “The DAR staff who entertained me were very courteous and really helpful. They made me understand the entire process of what I was asking for. As well as, I am grateful for the opportunity granted by the BPSF, it has truly helped the community.”

Ms. Solis is only one of the numerous clients whom DAR very satisfactorily tended to.

In closing, RD Capinpuyad stated that, “we are all looking forward to future activities with the same intent as the BPSF.”
