Mastering good housekeeping, DAR Caraga employees undergo 7S training

The Caraga Regional Office started the Holy Week productive as it yet again capacitates its employees through a 3-day Orientation on Good Housekeeping which included the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling aka as Project SPLIT staff that started on March 25, 2024 at Hotel Oazis, Butuan City.

This orientation is primarily focused on the 7S, the updated version of the 5S methodology.

It is a Japanese tool that was further expanded aims to organize & maintain a disciplined, safe, clean and productive workplace. 

As such, the methodology is formed by the components of Sort, Systematize, Sweep, Standardize, Self-Disciplines, Safety, and Sustain. All of these combined, helps to create a better working environment, reduces waste while improve efficiency & quality.

Tapped as subject matter experts, Board Secretary VI Earl D. Dela Victoria, Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Cornelius B. Mahinay, and Information Officer I Sara Mae Cassion-Dahuyla, of the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) - Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), all emphasized that undertaking the tedious task of effectively implementing the 7S within the workplace takes time and the complete cooperation of each and everyone involved in the office.

They also shared the principle of starting 7S with the "slowly but surely" mindset because the process does not happen overnight.

OIC-Assistant Regional Director Joie L. Ceballos, representing Regional Director Atty. Merlita S. Capinpuyan, reminded the participants that these series of recently-conducted capacity building trainings and this one, " we must all share one common goal for us to be successful in this endeavor."

"And through the principles of good housekeeping and the 7S framework, it is not just about tidying up physical spaces; it is about fostering efficiency, safety, and a culture of excellence within our organization," ARD Ceballos continued.
