Estrella commends AFP for continuous support to the President

We salute the Armed Forces of the Philippines for strongly rejecting the call to withdraw support for the President. We stand with the officers and men of the Armed Forces in the fulfilment of our collective duty to uphold the Constitution, obey the law and uphold the welfare of the Filipino people.

There is no moral reason to divide our people by sowing unfounded fears against imagined threats. We should, instead, find every reason to work together, to unite - whatever our political persuasions may be - to advance national development in all fronts, and to pursue mutually beneficial relations with countries in the global community.

In less than two years, this administration proved its resolve in advancing national economic growth by mobilizing all resources to increase agricultural productivity to attain food security, promoting trade and investments to generate more job opportunities for our people, and expanding social services through more socialized housing for the poor, better health services, and making education more responsive and accessible for all Filipinos especially the poor. The networks of public infrastructure from roads, railways and other transport facilities to enable the easy movement of products and services are also being expanded nationwide.

We can do more and even better in the years ahead by strengthening our unity – our willingness to work hard together to make life better for every Filipino.

As public servants, we have only one moral and civic duty – to serve the people and uphold their welfare at all times.

Let us roll up our sleeves and buckle down to work. Together, let us leave no room for divisiveness and partisan political interests.
